The four California bleeding disorders organizations invite you and your family to join us for the 8th Annual Familia de Sangre, a two-day conference on blood disorders with all programming presented in Spanish.

Educational sessions and networking opportunities covering healthcare, education, mental health and support services

Familia de Sangre is the largest bleeding disorders conference completely in Spanish. The conference will take place September 5-7 at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA.

Familia de Sangre es la conferencia más grande sobre trastornos sanguíneos completamente en español. La conferencia será del 5 al 7 de septiembre en el Anaheim Marriott en Anaheim, CA. 

HASDC’s SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Hemophilia Association of San Diego County will be providing limited local scholarships for this year’s Familia de Sangre Conference. Submitting a scholarship application through the Hemophilia Association of San Diego County DOES NOT guarantee acceptance. As scholarship funding is limited, applications will be reviewed by HASDC and acceptance will be dependent on the order the application is received and that ALL required fields are complete, accurate, and submitted. Priority will be given to first time attendees. 

Eligibility
Must live in San Diego or Imperial Counties, have someone in your immediate family with a diagnosed bleeding disorder and currently be in HASDC’s database.

Application submission will open in 2025

Women & Girls Retreat

Join us for a day of conversations, connections and support. If you are a woman or teen affected by a bleeding disorder, please join us at this special event designed for you. All women and girls ages 14+ are encouraged to attend – diagnosed, caregivers, carriers, undiagnosed, living in HASDC’s service area.

You will have the opportunity to connect with friends old and new, meet with staff from Rady Children’s Hospital HTTC and UC San Diego Health HTTC, as well as network with industry representatives at the exhibitor booths.

Industry Symposium & Back to School Event

Novel Therapies: What’s Upcoming for the Bleeding Disorders Community


Join us for our annual Industry Symposium & Back to School Event. You will have the opportunity to learn about Gene Therapy, product updates and enjoy an afternoon on the bay! Participants will also have the opportunity to visit bleeding disorder industry representatives at the Exhibitor Fair. Our programs and events are open to individuals with a bleeding disorder, carriers, immediate family members/caregivers living in HASDC’s service area. This event will be presented in English. 

Back to school giveaways for children/teens in attendance will be provided.

SAN DIEGO BAY WATER ACTIVITIES

Join us for a morning of education and an afternoon on the San Diego Bay. Participants will be able to enjoy paddle boarding and kayaking on the bay after lunch. Please indicate your preference on your registration form.

Items to bring:
– Blanket/towel for the grass
– Sunscreen
– Swimsuit or clothes appropriate for paddle boarding/kayaking
– Hat

CHILDCARE

Complimentary childcare will be provided for children ages 3-12 only. Young adults 13 and older are invited to participate in the educational program. Children under 3 are welcome to stay with their parents or please make alternate arrangements. Please inform HASDC in advance if your child has any special needs (behavioral, educational, dietary, etc.) and we will do our best to make accommodations.

Wellness Wednesdays: Hike the Coast

 

Join us virtually for our Wellness Wednesdays: Summer Series. Our Wellness Wednesdays series will bring you interactive conversations and movement opportunities as we provide you with wellness resources. Our Wellness Wednesdays: Summer Series is open to individuals with a bleeding disorder and their immediate family members living in HASDC’s service area. 

GIVEAWAY
HASDC will cover parking for one vehicle per household. Any additional cars will have to pay the parking cost of $35 on their own. We will also provide a snack for reach participant.

Hike the Coast
Join us for a guided hike along the coast with Nichole Wilkinson. We will be hiking the Bayside Trail at Cabrillo National Monument which is a 2.5 mile hike up with an elevation gain of 340ft in Point Loma. You will have the option to go see the tide pools on the other side of the hill when we finish. The hike should take 1.5 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring a snack, and one liter of water. For more tips on hiking you can check out Nichole’s Top Ten Hiking Essentials.

Disclaimer: Contact your doctor or physical therapist before starting any physical activity or exercise program for recommendations that are specific to your current level of health. Do not practice yoga if a joint or muscle has had a recent bleed, is swollen, warm, or painful.

A lifelong San Diegan with a penchant for the outdoors, Nichole craves connecting with other outdoor enthusiasts, encouraging others to start hiking, and compiling tips and advice from her own experience. She is First Aid, CPR, and AED certified and brings adventure and outdoor education to her members and local schools. She offers a monthly membership that includes 2 guided hikes per month, monthly education and REI meetups, exclusive invitations to backpacking and climbing trips, as well as priority registration to the upcoming backpacking course!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I join the webinar?
After you have registered via the HASDC website, you will receive a confirmation email directly from Zoom with the program link. Please use the “Click Here to Join” link in that email.

What if I get disconnected or can’t login?
We will be actively troubleshooting throughout the web-conference. Text 619-325-9401 if you have any technical difficulties and we will try to help you get back into the web-conference. We encourage everyone to start logging in at 5:50PM so that we have time to help you troubleshoot and you will still be eligible for the dinner.

How will I receive my dinner gift card?
HASDC will email you an e-gift card from GrubHub to be used to purchase a meal on a later date. Please note: gift cards will be sent to the email you used to register.
